Therapy for Couples
Relationships are hard – they bring with them the inevitable confluence of differing perspectives, values, projections about what love is supposed to feel, look and sound like, and so on. No wonder passion and desire get lost sometimes – even when it was powerful and magical “in the beginning.”
I work to help couples get back what years of bickering, circular arguments, betrayals and secrets, and built-up resentments can cover over – a renewed sense of passion and commitment to bringing love to back to life.
My work with couples is influenced by my strong belief that we are all seeking safe, secure and sexually alive connections with our partners. However, somewhere along the way our relationships are impacted by breeches in trust, miscommunications, misinterpretations and misattunements that lead us to feel that there is “little to no hope for us.”
I am here to help you both safely unpacked these little (or big!) messes together – with the help of new communication tools and insights into what is going on beneath the surface of what feel like entrenched and unrelenting conflicts. My grounded presence and years of experience working with relationship difficulties will help us work to heal the hurts that we have caused our most precious loved ones. As we do so, we can create an even stronger and more resilient bond than we may have ever shared with our partner.
Some issues that bring couples to therapy are:
- Addiction/Partner Addiction Support
- Balance (Work/Life/Family)
- Blended Families
- Divorce
- Infidelity/Cheating
- Intimacy
- Mental Illness
- Pre-Marital/Readiness
- Pornography
- Polyamory
- Sex
I love working with all types and configurations of diverse relationships and am committed to a culturally humble stance towards my clients. I am committed to ongoing learning and engagement with respect to the LGBTQ+ community and am a sex positive therapist. Sexual and relationship diversity is one of the delights of being human. My associates and I invite our clients to explore the impacts of oppression and systems of power may have had on their identity development and expression, as well as the multiple and exponential ways that societal constraints have affected the vital functioning of self and our relationships.
If you and your partner(s) are in need of support for any of the above issues, or anything else, please get in touch for a free consultation. I would love to speak about how I can help you to reconnect and rekindle your love and passion for one another.
